Case Percussion Ensemble
The Case Percussion Ensemble (MUEN 324) is an elective performance ensemble in the Department of Music at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. It is dedicated to the thoughtful performance of the vast and varied repertoire for the modern percussion ensemble. The 25-plus members of the ensemble include music majors from all areas of emphasis as well as non-majors. The group presents several concerts each year both within the university and in the community at large. The ensemble rehearses Tuesdays 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and is open to all university students with an interest in percussion instruments and music.
Auditions
Entrance to the Case Percussion Ensemble is by audition. There are different audition requirements depending on the status of the auditionee:
- Returning members audition near the end of the spring semester for membership the following academic year.
- New members (Fall) audition just prior to the beginning of the fall semester. In most cases these auditions take place during orientation days and/or the weekend before the first day of classes. Auditions will not be heard once classes begin.
- New members (Spring) audition at any time during the fall semester to begin membership in the following spring semester.
