M.A. IN MUSIC EDUCATION ~ COMPREHENSIVE EXAM OPTION

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3.0 undergraduate GPA
  • 1 year of teaching experience
  • Submit:
    • Case application including all post high school transcripts (check off financial aid, if interested)
    • Resume
    • Writing sample (major paper, philosophy of music education, etc.)
  • For those who pass initial application review, complete an in-person interview.

MuTh 422 – Music Theory for Educators

MuHi 430 – Music History for Educators

Courses in music theory, music history and applied music suited to the student’s interests and needs and approved by the music education faculty.

ELECTIVES (6-9 Credit Hours)

 

Music education courses, seminars, and independent studies, and studies in a related field outside of music education (up to 6 credit hours), suited to the student’s interests and needs and approved by the music education faculty.
