A Music Degree Today
So what can I do with a music degree?
A B.A. degree from Case is a well-rounded background for a career in music in such areas as performance, music publishing, music librarianship, and broadcasting. Concentrations in Music History and Literature, Early Music Performance Practices, or Music Theory may lead to graduate studies in those areas. Another possibility after additional training is Arts Management, supported through the University's new Mandel Center for Non-profit Management.
Many fields require additional specialized training, and our undergraduate programs in music education and audio recording technology provide an excellent preparation for these professions.
Music is important to me, but I have other career ideas.
Many students approach college with this in mind yet want the satisfaction of a major in Music. This is possible through Double Majors, which combine study in music with such diverse fields as Psychology, Chemistry, Engineering, English, and so on. And the record shows that our music majors have a very good chance of gaining admission to professional schools like Law, Management, and Medicine.
