Information for Prospective Students

The music minor requires 15 credit hours, including 6 in theory, 6 in appreciation or history, and 3 others, which may be applied music (lessons or ensembles).

A typical music minor might look like this:

The last line might be replaced by a single semester of MUAP (3 cr. hrs), by an MUHI (music history) course, or by MUEN (ensemble) participation for credit for three semesters. Students who enter CWRU as music majors and subsequently drop can substitute music major theory (e.g., MUTH 107, 108) and history (e.g., MUHI 301, 302) for the non-major courses listed above. If you have further questions, or require assistance with course substitution, contact Dr. Duffin (rwd@case.edu), the departmental minors advisor.
